What are your current covid precautions?

Stephanie has received both doses of the COVID-19 vaccination. Masks are worn by both the consultant and requested to be worn by all persons present at the appointment who are over the age of 2 years old. Stephanie will wash her hands upon arrival and will wear gloves during any touching interaction with parent and baby. All supplies used at appointments are cleaned and sanitized before and after each appointment. Telehealth is available for those who feel it is a better fit for them at this time.

Do you accept Insurance?

We are in network with Aetna and Independence Blue Cross. Please contact us to verify your benefits. If we are not in your network and you are a private pay client we can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. We make no guarantee of reimbursement.

What happens at group sessions?

I max the group sessions at 6 persons to be sure I can reach everyone during the hour. We will begin with a quick round of introductions and brief explanation as to why you are there. I begin by working around the circle and addressing each individuals issue. Meanwhile, discussion and support is encouraged between the rest of the group. Sometimes the best thing we can do for ourselves is surround ourselves with the village we need to succeed on our journey, and that can be found at groups of people in a similar place as you. There is a scale for weighted feeds and I will have some supplies on hand if any situation would call for it. If you are a pumping parent please bring your pump.

Are support people welcome at group sessions?

I prefer support people not come to the group session to ensure the comfort and privacy of others who attend. While some parents are comfortable feeding their child or talking about personal issues in front of others, they may not be as comfortable in front of support persons as well. If you want your support person with you I suggest a private in home consultation or video consultation.

What can I expect from a telehealth appointment?

Telehealth appointments are done through a secure system. We will go through your history, concerns, and discuss your goals. I will ask that you position your camera so I can get a good view to observe a feeding and/or pump session and make suggestions based on what I can observe. We will develop a care plan for you to follow.

will there be a follow up to our appointment?

Stephanie will follow up three days after your appointment via secure email. If you have any questions about your care plan at any time within those three days or need a simple adjustment you can utilize your portal for secure messaging. Follow up and questions will be available as needed for one week following your appointment. If the situation calls for a more in depth conversation another appointment will be suggested and scheduled.

What will we learn from a breastfeeding class?

Our breastfeeding/chestfeeding class is focused on teaching you what to expect in the early weeks. You will learn latch techniques, how to spot an issue, challenge common myths, what is in the range of “normal,” and what could be a reason to seek support. You will leave with a handout highlighting key points to remember and reference when you welcome baby home.

how long after submitting a request form will we be contacted?

You will receive a response within 24 hours of submitting a request by the preferred method of contact you have selected.

are there office hours?

I do not have designated office hours. I check my messages at 11am and 4pm each day and will return calls throughout the day as I am able. All calls and messages will be returned within 24 hours.

Does everyone need a private prenatal consultation?

I believe everyone needs a prenatal visit or class to be prepared. Whether you want a private prenatal visit or attend the class is entirely up to you! We can have a more specific discussion in the private prenatal consultation and really dive in to any specific questions or special circumstances you may have. If you have any pre-existing conditions, or if you or baby have any diagnosis that is likely to affect breastfeeding/chestfeeding I highly recommend the private consultation.
